    I got Vonage in 2003. I signed up for the limited plan for $14.95/month which gives you 500 outbound minutes per month. Most of my calls are incoming and I don't make a lot of long-distance calls so this was a good pricing plan for me. Equivalent service from BellSouth was costing me $33/month without voice mail. Vonage was great for a couple of years.

    Update: 5/1/07

    I finally dropped Vonage. I was having increasing issues with one-way audio and busy signals on incoming calls. The final blow was that I was sick of having to use their terminal adapter to feed the line into my SIP PBX (Asterisk). Vonage continues to refuse giving out SIP credentials to users and I have other good providers who do.

    I ported my number from Vonage to VoicepulseConnect! without incident. I did have to send a message to them on this forum to get my number removed from their system after it ported so people still on Vonage could call me. Overall, they were polite, courteous and not overly solicitous when I told them I would be disconnecting.

    If they survive the Verizon lawsuit and provide a "bring your own" type plan, I would consider a return to them in the future.
