AT&T
"It works, and gives me the speed I'm paying for."
"Administrative SNAFUs have left me without a conection for a few days."
"Generally acceptable, but nothing to sing praises about."

It was either AT&T DSL or Time Warner, and since I have zero need for Cable TV, I chose AT&T. The service is adequate, and works most of the time, but if anything goes wrong it takes a lot of phone calls to their overseas tech desk. Which really doesn't help me any as the problem has usually been the CO on my end, and isn't something that can get fixed remotely.
I wouldn't go so far as to say that I'm satisfied with the service, but it does give me at least Internet connectivity. I wish there was some competition for High Speed Internet in my area. As it is, either of the incumbent's offerings leave much to be desired in the way of speed. My DSL is at the maximum speed the line can handle, which is 3m/512k. There isn't any option of getting anything faster. Cable doesn't really offer any better, and is more expensive for an equivalent connection.
The bottom line: The service is overwhelmingly average. It works, but could be better.
Update: Well, there hasn't been much to complain about, the service works, I get decent speeds and latency and they don't seem to be blocking any P2P. However, their administration still sucks. When things are working, it works ok, but when things break, it takes a few days for them to straighten it out. The latest outage was due to squirrels damaging a junction box on the pole, and it took them 3 days to get a truck out, then another day after that to actually fix the problem after the first tech couldn't find the broken box (over my mailbox, 12 feet up, hard to miss). It took several calls to get the whole mess resolved. It seems that as long as I don't have to call them, everything runs smoothly. If I do have to call in, it takes tons of time and lots of going through automated menus before I can even talk to a living being.
