AT&T
"stable and reilable"
"messed up my profile so I was not getting PRO speed, 3Mbps download"
"It was really difficult to get ATT to admit to the mistake."

I subscribed to the Pro package, 3000 kbps download speed. I got about 2400 kbps at the beginning so with overhead it's was normal.

But suddenly, my speed dropped to 1400 kbps. After posting in the AT&T Forum here, I was advised that my profile was corrupted.

After hours on the phone and tests, I was finally connected with a Jim in AT&T St. Louis, MO. He corrected my profile and I was up again at 2400 kbps.

This experience really shocked me about the inefficiency of AT&T support group as a whole. There should be a simple test of what the speed was at their end.

But I will continue to support ATT-SBC since I have a lot of good friends who work there. Financially, ATT local, LD and internet pricing is really higher than Comcast HSI and VOIP phone. I already am paying over $100/mo for HD cable, so enough for Comcast.

    Same Issue

I seem to have the same speed drop problem. Going to call them soon, but based on the experiences of other with Customer support, it'll be a long day.
