Just moved in to area, new service so no data on reliability. Very close to CO getting 1.5/384 sync. as advertisd. Dynamic IP, PPPoE. Nothing to complain on speed. The promised install date was delayed by two days. Used the manual install directions from the CD. Did not install the software. I do not need "son of IE" browser on machine to invite malware. Installed with old westell modem. Login/Register process went fine except adding all yahoo junk at the end. As per instructions I got the blank screen at the end of registration and that was OK. (I was using firefox and I guess it did not run activeX 
To get $15 without adding additional services to your phone line, you have to register online. Are there enough stupid people who fall for this? If yes, I need to learn marketing from sbc. I ended up calling five times so I do not think they saved money by forcing me to register online.
I did not want modem, yet there was no option to stop them sending modem.

Update for 08 - still waiting for modem rebate. Now they send me card saying some wrong! after three years of service?

Update for 4/08 David in official help forum helped track the rebates and finally got a service credit. Thank you David.
So it takes hard core support techs who really want to help to solve big corp paper pusher problems for a small man.
BTW Service now costs $30 I wish my earnings were up by 20% too.
