2/26/04 Not much to say, have had Ameritech/SBC for about 3 years, moved to a new house and was barely able to get my order approved (15k from CO). They jerked around my install date a little, but nothing to extreme. Beachboy helped me stabilize my line and it just sit's there and run's like I expect it to.
384 stil beats dialup anyday of the week....I kept my old CPE, and my price stayed the same.
Update: 11/6/04 Was able to get my speed up to 1.2mb by removing some shoddy IW done by the previous owner/alarm company. Been rock solid ever since and I'm happy.
Update: 1/22/06: Lost my DSL signal friday morning (1/19) at exactly 9:45am. Dialed up and went right to the DSL Direct guys. Saturday morning, before I had even had a chance to shovel the driveway, a tech showed up to work on the line. It took him about 2 hours, but he was able to fix my DSL line. Nice guy, and a hard worker, he gave me his ID # when I asked for it (tk1314). With people like that helping customers, it's easy to recommend SBC DSL.
Update: 1/3/08: No major issues thus far, swapped out my failing 5861 with a Speedstream 4100, and then a Netopia 2210 modem. Signal has been pretty much rock solid, in fact I was even able to finally get an upgrade to increase my upstream a bit. So far though no issues even though we have 3 computers, a xbox and a wii all using it.
