Ordered DSL Expert Plus (1.5 to 3.0 MB download, 384kB upload, dynamic IP, PPPoE) on 2/17/04, appoinment set for 2/24/04 with tech to install. SBC called back on Friday to confirm order and appointment for install. Tech came on 2/24/04, installed filters on outside line coming in and at line feeding modem. Installed modem, updated software, configured SBC Yahoo account. Modem is 2wire home network, which has wireless 802.b. Service came up with 5.0 MB download, 0.5MB upload! I switched from Adelphia Powerlink service (3.0 MB download, 256kB upload) to SBC Yahoo. I am satisfied and impressed with the speed and reliability so far. Tech called back day after install to confirm all is well and no problems. Nice touch. One bad thing is tech support for email; call is to India and the language skill is terrible. But finally set up a sub email account for the wife.

It has been since 2/24/2004 that I have switch over from Adelphia cable modem to SBC/Yahoo DSL. So far, I am 100% satisfied, no problems. I am getting reliable service all day, every day (no loss of sync, no outages). Plus, I am getting 5000 Mbs download and 515 Kbs upload speeds, much better than Adelphia.

Check this link out »/speedresults/···/1324462 I am impressed with the 2Wire 1000SW DSL modem too. I have my laptop wireless connected to the network via DSL modem. Fast speeds too.
10/08/2004 update
I am very pleased with SBC Yahoo DSL. My connections are stable and reliable. Just a humorous note, Adelphia called me yesterday to offer me a special deal for their internet services. I explained to the sales person why I left Adelphia (down for over a week and periodic outages were normal). I run my appraisal business from my home and send very large files (finished appraisals) to my clients. 5.0 MB download, 0.5MB upload speed is absolutely necessary for me at this time. Business has been great all summer. If the reliability and stability of service continues, I cannot see any reason to change at this time. Of course, if my situation changes dictating more bandwidth, then I will consider upgrading.
Overall, I recommend SBC Yahoo.
12/03/2005 update
I am very pleased with SBC DSL service and would recommend them. There was a neighborhood outage where construction cut the phone lines however, SBC had their end up and running within 24 hours. Ping times and bandwidth are good.

I have been using AT&T (was SBC) DSL now since February 2004. The service is very reliable and I have not been off line but twice however, both times the service was back in less than 24 hours.
I am now changing plans since what I originally signed up for is replaced with 6mb down and 1.5mb up. It is suppose to go into effect on Monday 12/30/2008 and it is $20 cheaper.
