Overall I have had a pretty good experience with AT&T. So far they're the only service I've used, and I'm very content. For what we're paying (about $19.99 a month for DSL) we get great DSL service with no down-time. Although it seems a bit sluggish in download speeds for DSL, this is most likely because it is one of the lower-end packages. But don't get me wrong, for browsing and even large file downloading, the speed and service is great. We get around 320kb/s download speeds, which is great for video watching and gaming, but not so great for large file downloads.
Tech support has been decent, although hold times are extremely long. When we do finally connect, it is usually with a fluent English-speaking person. (Which is always a bonus!)
I have never had an issue with the modem or connection coming to the house. I am on a direct wired connection to my router, so I've never had downtime. The other 3 computers in our house are wireless and still browse at the same speed. Online gaming and multilayer runs great with our package.
If you need a great internet/phone or even any of the other services provided by AT&T, go with them.
