Since the switch from @Home to Insight, I have had no major problems. The download speed (3000) is great but the upload (128) needs to be improved. However, Insight has made comments that tiered service may become available in the future as one option to customers who want a higher upload speed. I currently rent my modem from Insight for $10 per month and receive a $10 per month credit on by cable bill, so there is no out of pocket cost. All in all, I would recommend Insight to others.

Update: Insight just started tiered service..for $35 dollars more per month ($80 total), you can get an upload speed of 384. Price may seem a little high to some, but I think it's okay...I upgraded and am very pleased with it.

Update: Do to the latest viruses/worms circulating on the internet, Insight has blocked ICMP's. However, I have read where they have sent letters to the customers who computers are infected and told them they have one week to fix it or their service will be disconnected. I will update when/if there is a change. As far as the overall service, Insight still rates high with me.

Since April 1, 2004 my speed has dropped from a consistent 3000 to 2750. Supposedly, Insight is experimenting with new tiers in Kentucky, but no official word on that to date. With all the recent upgrades by other providers, Insight had better do something soon or I will be looking for a change. Other than the problem with my "speed", Insight still rates high with me.

Insight just increased the standard tier to 4000/384 and the "Plus" tier to 6000/512. The "Plus" tier is still an extra $35 per month...not sure it's worth the difference, but I still have it. As stated above, my connection has always been solid as a rock and, with the speed increase, Insight is once again on the right path to being one of the top cable providers.

There have been no changes to what Insight offers or my personal experiences since my last review. Perhaps we'll see another speed increase before the next review.

Update - Nothing new regarding price or speed increases. Hopefully, there will be more news before the next update.

Update Sept 2006 - Currently nothing new regarding price or speed increases. However, there is an unofficial rumor that there will be a speed increase this fall...we shall see.

Update Nov 2006 - Insight is currently implementing the speed upgrade. The standard tier will be 10000/1000 and the "Plus" tier will be 15000/1500.

Comcast took over Insight's service in my area.
