We got mediacom installed a while back and i never did a review on it. I wanted to take some time and write about our experience. We got the triple play. Internet, Cable tv and Phone. He came out. Wired the house. (The house was NOT wired for cable tv.) He quickly ran the wires. (we had it all laid out for him. Even ran one of the wires to make it easy for him). Once the wiring was done, he hooked us up. Signal was good. Gave us a decent digital box for cable tv and an arris telephone/cable modem. Speed tests show us reaching our caps. Pings are kinda high but still acceptable. I have not really had any downtime with either the cable tv, internet, or phone. It always works.
I do have one complaint about the cable tv service. However they get their signal, IT SUCKS! I get better reception with my old directv dish! Lots of channels would fade in and out. You would get the "No signal from satellite" message or it would just pause and stop with audio drops. This is with the analog channels. NOT the digital ones for some reason. I never had this issue with comcast or rcn before. They really need to work on that. It's bad enough trying to watch discovery channel but to have it interrupted numerous times is just bad.
So far, i hear very mixed things about mediacom. So far, i am very pleased with them. (Other than the cable tv issue.) I would highly recommend them for the internet. You can't beat their speeds!
