since signing up, i've had problems with these guys. don't let the money back guarantee fool you. if you do have problems, and you ask for your money back, you will not get a response! problems i've had:
they install shareware on their servers, causing messages to appear on YOUR sites!
each contact with customer service does not get a response.
help desk system goes down a lot.
mail services go down a lot. results in loss of email!
the good thing. it's dirt cheap as far as windows hosting goes. i have yet to find a cheaper price. they give you loads of disk space. if you decide to subscribe to their service, hope to god that nothing ever goes wrong. you will not be helped!

| Datapacket.net it is a bad service, BAD, BAD, BAD, BAD
bad is a small word for them, It is a group of looters, who are going to make fraud with you.
Never go for webhosting with DataPacket.net, they can close your account any time without any notice. All data will be lost, They will not provide you any data back up.
Cheaters, Cheater and they are big cheaters, They will never listen to your call, They are BIG Fraud

@xpinternet.net | Good!!
Datapacket has been very good for me for the past five months. One time my email stopped working but I found out it was actually an issue with my ISP blocking some port. Datapacket told me how to fix it and it worked well! ^_^

| Horrible host I run a company that does web work for reale state agents. I purchased a reseller account from datapacket to host my clients sites. Since I signed up I have recieved a huge amount of downtime despite the 99.9 gaurantee. In addition they recently had a server crash, resulting in a very long down time. The end result was that all of my clients site files for two of the sites I was hosting were lost. My coompany site came back fine so I did not think there could be to much problem. My clients continued to call one after another asking why thier site was not up. Come to find out all files were lost, datapacket knew about this and didnt even tell me. So much for the claim that they offer daily file back up. Also, the customer service is terrible. They claim to offer 24/7 support. Far from true. It is typically to wait ours after submitting a trouble ticket. They also advertise a 1-800 number. If you call this you might get lucky and be able to leave a message but more than likely wit will ring a couple times and disconect you. I have called at least 100 times and have never spoken to anyone. In the long run they have cost me a lot of money and have caused my clients to go to a different company or to loose trust in me. I absolutely hate datapacket. I could go on and on about the technical problems I have had with them and thier lack of tech knowledge but I am sick of complaining about them and need to focus more time on finding my new host! | |

| very good i have been with them for a little less than 2 years and overall the service and support has been quite good. there has been some minor bumps with the service but they are uncommon. i simply have not found a better value. i have never seen them offer a daily backup service, so i don't know what the poster above me is talking about, but i make my own backups anyway so i never have to worry. | |

| A shambles Whatever you do, I urge you to avoid Datapacket like the plague. Their hosting features are okay (and certainly cheap, but as I will explain you definately get what you pay for), but their customer service and reliability are appalling.
I started hosting my site with them in November 2003 and things seemed okay for about six weeks. However, my site went down for three days in December due to Datapacket's incompetence with database management. It then went down again in early January, this time for FOUR days. Datapacket claimed it was a Sprint router outage, which was completely untrue because I contacted Sprint and they had no record of an outage. Besides, router outages tend to last for a few hours at most, not FOUR days.
In late January 2004 my database apparently vanished from their server. I submitted a message to their "help desk" - it took them two days to get back to me, but that was better than the week it took them to get back to me the time before. I found, tucked away in their Web site, a little note that SQL Server was being discontinued from February 1 on their servers. Of course, they hadn't bothered to notify any of their customers about this. The message conveniently disappeared later in the day.
Datapacket used to trade under the name "BriNet" and they have had numerous complaints made against them with the Florida Better Business Bureau, a step I intend to take also.
Steer clear of Datapacket - they change their policies and guidelines on a whim and their customer service is next to non-existant. Don't bother trying to call them - all you will get is a voicemail message. The truth is that Datapacket appears to be one guy (Brian Bennett) running an inept, unreliable, and bordering on illegal hosting service from his mom's garage. Their site might look professional but, trust me, their service is not.
