    I've been a Cox HSI customer for about 5 to 6 years. There were some bad spots in network performance and reliability about three years ago that took one year to fix. Once they replaced a router in Merrifield the overall network performance improved significantly. However it took about one year of constant nagging before Cox admitted there was a problem at the ".65" hop.

    Cox's customer service has improved considerably in Fairfax COunty VA> I think they hired all new people.

    The telephone support people typically read from a script and do not deviate from the script if you phone them for help. The techs that visit the home can test the lines in the house, but are unable to work on the street tap. They usually call in another set of techs to work any street tap issues. It appears they've hired more network savy customer support people within the past year. Cox recently sent someone to the house without my asking them.

    The Cox tech people (CoxTech1 and CoxTOC) on this forum are very good in covering alot of issues. They'll even coordinate with the local Cox people to solve problems.

    Performance appears consistent now that Merrifield has been fixed. Compared to the horror stories from Comcast customers I think my service is very good now.
