I recently moved into a newly purchased house. A week or so before I called cox to establish service and hopefully have everything up and running ASAP after moving in.
I did the triple-play and had the option of having all equipment shipped to me or I could pick it up at a cox retail location. I chose the latter since I was located near one. All services were a self-install.
I picked everything up, the night before moving in, I plugged in the cable modem and it synced right up and speed tests were great. It doesn't get any easier.
Just to note, I already had 2 cox cable modems, but they threw in a new one for free, so I just used that.
