Simple and painless. Went to the Cox office, bought the modem, and set up the service. Came home, plugged it all in and I was online. I haven't had a single outage that I've been able to detect since I got the service in March 03. A few months ago they decided to block 3rd party mail port to stop spam. I'm all for stopping spammers, but if I pay $80.00 for hosting I'd like to be able to send mail from my domain like I have for years. Oh well. Still a great deal.
Been a while since I updated. Price keeps going up. Sitting at $44 last time I checked. If they keep raising the price, I'll be forced to taking donations or getting ::shudder:: Qwest dsl.
Update 8/24/08: It seems as though the customer base is growing faster than the infrastructure can support. During the day, things run okay. At night, I can't even watch a Youtube video without pausing it and letting it load for 4 minutes. Things slow to a crawl from 6PM to 11.
