    My Other Reviews·TekSavvy Solutions..
I had been a customer of Rogers since the @home days. I have slowly watched their Internet service degrade little by little.

A time-line of events goes something like this:

    - Automatic virus scanning of emails, you need to register at the yahoo! site to disable this for each email account. I found this feature to be quite obnoxious, because instead of getting a virus, which I have my system to quarantine the way I want it, I get an automatic delivery notification message, that is not quarantined.

    - Move to voice attendant on their phone system. If you have ever called in, you'll know what I'm talking about.

    - Hold times are terrible

    - Automatic bulk message tagging... Another misguided feature. Re-writing my subject lines on my email is not acceptable. It makes my INBOX illegible, and there are too many false-positives to provide any real value. Use X-RogersThinksThisIsSpam headers or something, but don't make it so when I'm responding I end up with:
Subject: [Bulk] Re: [Bulk] Re: [Bulk] Re: [Bulk] My subject

    - Silent decision to throttle traffic. This goes deep. There are a lot of implications to this, and if you don't already know about it, get informed. Long story short kids: YOU AREN'T GETTING WHAT YOU ARE PAYING FOR, and THIS PAVES THE WAY FOR FURTHER ABUSE

    - Injecting HTML into your browsing sessions? Whose idea was that!?!

    - Pricing is on the expensive side, for what you are getting.

    - Big corporation Weasel qualities...

The throttling was the last straw, so I've switched to a cheaper, better, independent ISP, and I feel soooo much better.

    Hmmm..

How do you like your throttled independent isp? Also you can turn off the "bulk" tag on your email by turning off spam filtering. Takes 10 seconds.

    Re: Hmmm..

Not liking, and being politically active to stop it. You?

I have to register on a site to turn it off, for each email account. They can go bugger themselves.

My new independent ISP allows me to:

    - Have a static IP address, so I have more reliable name resolution
    - Run up my own mail server without violating their TOS

A silly question since Ted throttles the piss right out of you everywhere not just in certain select locations.

To anon45354353 Why are you trolling the Rogers review forum anyway? If you're so happy with your service then go use it for something useful. Why does an average user care so much about the reviews Rogers gets on this forum anyway? Why not just write your own review and be done with it, instead of trolling this thread? I've been reading many of your comments and you make it seem like a crime to post a negative about Rogers? You seem to have an invested interest in Rogers reputation, you don't sound like an average everyday user!
