We decided to switch to Express. 7mbps is more then enough. I haven't had any problems. My ping times in CSS are top-notch throughout the day. If you can get Rogers, do it. It's far superior to what Bell provides.

Well, recently Rogers had upped the bandwith to 8mbps/800. No complaints. My speeds are great on whatever I use. BT isn't that bad. I can get 100KB/s anytime of the day. If you can get Rogers in your area I would say go for it. But, if you want unlimited bandwith then they aren't for you.

Ok, Since my last review I've moved in to a new house which has a dedicated Rogers Hi-Speed line as well as the regular cable for TV. I did have the old Terayon modem with the old protocol for 3 months and it was crap. I now have a Motorola modem using the DOCSIS protocol. Not only that we decided to get the Extreme package (5000/800) and it's great. Rogers move to DOCSIS was long over due but it's here and its great. So enjoy!

Well, Still the same old up and down service. Highest test since the IP change. 2206kbps. Where is my 3mbps I was getting before and know I can get. My next door neighbour (I live in an apartment) easily reaches 2800kbps. He has a different modem then I do but still. Anyway, just to let you know I had Sympatico for a free month and I can honestly say that is the worst ISP in Ontario. Not once did I reach 1mbps. I must admit though I did have some good ping times in CS but what's the point when u can only download at a max of 115KB/s? Glad it was free. I moved up the reliabilty because it doesn't go down as much as I hear from other users. No where near the perfection Cogeco provided me.

Rogers recently changed my IP and now my speeds have suffered because of it. I looked on their network stats page and saw that the Durham region was going to be looked at today but it looks like that wasn't the reason for changing it. Rogers was quick, now, its just the way it was before. Shame on you Rogers for providing a unsatisfactory product for a large price.

They did it! I'm now receiving 2400/384. I'm not sure if this is coindedence or whatever but I'm more then pleased. I now get 300KB/s d/l's and my ping times in games etc.. are even better. Good job Rogers! You should of done this a few months ago
First Review: September 2003
I moved to Oshawa on the 3rd of September and moved away from Cogeco ville. Rogers is half of what Cogeco is (1.5mbps compared to 3mbps) and thats like downgrading from a RX-7 to a Sunfire. Yuck! Anyway, I read and heard all the horror stories of Rogers before moving and feared I might be one of the unlucky ones but surely I'm not and have been satisfied with what I'm given. (losing only 200kbps isn't bad at all.) I've also read Rogers is testing 3mbps in some areas. I hope this turns out to be a good thing and turned into the standard for Rogers but I'm not going to get my hopes up. 2400/256 would be perfect.
