"3000/392 speed, good bundle prices"
"Tech support is is a gamble (you might get a helpful person on the other end or you might not...likely you'll get a bad one!)"
"Somewhat reliable, however they have a tendancy to CUT your speed and INCREASE the price without telling you"

Well what can I say about Rogers that's relatively "nice"? Nothing! We have had NUMEROUS problems with them over the course of 5 years when we had them. When it was Shaw@home back in the day, I hardly had ANY problems. A few weeks after switching hands over to Rogers, we had at least 10 technicians come to our house separately and over 5 hours of calling Rogers non-stop. Why? A truck had knocked down our cable line above the street and NONE of the technicians knew what to do! All they did was add boosters, or splitters as "quick fixes". The few that actually repaired the line physically did a shotty job which made it WORSE after they left. Half of them would say that they are "checking something down the street" and run away. This circus lasted roughly 20 days.
How is their support? A bunch of monkeys on a bunch of telephones would be more effective and help me more than all of the Rogers support employees COMBINED.
Granted, they do have helpful employees who are nice. We haven't had TOO many interruptions since that catastrophe a few years ago (as mentioned above). I recently acquired a new DOCSIS modem, which increased my speeds 2-fold. How long will this speed increase last? Probably until they implement monthly bandwidth caps in early spring.
My best advice? Try out Rogers if you have no other alternative. They aren't too bad, but they aren't good either. They have tendancies to cut your speeds in half while increasing the price.
>>>>>>>>>UPDATE
Since this review years ago, I have experienced very little interruption. We do have a cap at 60GB download and upload which is more than enough for most users. Speeds just increased to NEAR 1998 levels!
[IP Lease times last 7 days, which is enough to be able to keep your IP for as long as you're with Rogers. My IP only changed about 3 times.]
[Rogers rates their speeds as 3000 / 392. After getting my DOCSIS Terayon TJ615, I've been roughly getting those speeds consistently]
[Home equipment included a 3Com NIC, Modem, Network Cable, plus pulling a dedicated line from your cable hook-up to your computer. For us that meant drilling through the floor, but not cleaning anything up Full installation.]
