we have been with the hughes net company for a couple yrs now .. we used to have the home program.. we have 3 computers on the net ...we went over our fap a couple times and then decided to upgrade our service to home pro ..we also own the DW7000 unit, we game online,

Everquest was running fine till about 5 days ago ..now cant log into my game in peak hrs because hughes net slows the speeds down to a crawl .. and no we havent gone over our bandwidth usage.

This is not the speed promised by the contract we signed with hughes net. Their customer service is in another country and can barely speak english .. worst customer service ever !

And all they say is there nothing they can do about it. I pay $80 a month for their service, and paid about $800 for the satelite to be installed. This service is a rip off .. If you can get either dial up or hughesnet go for the dial up. we are switching back asap.

    hi FYI

    hi there,
I have read what u have put in here and at some point i agree to you. But the thing is even i am a hughenet subscriber and i have never had any issues like the one you had. Well, let me explain u something regarding the fair access policy. It depends on how you play aroud. you have to be smart enough to not get into the FAP. You can use something that is called as "download managers" and you can also turn off all the automatic updates. and be sure to secure your wireless router(incase u happen to use any) And let me also tell you how to play around with the FAP well in case u dont know there is a free fap period between which u can download end number of datas like anything. plus u should change ur frequent gaming time to somewhere around fap free period. well at the moment that is all i have for u incase u want more suggestion u can mail me at khries.vitsu@gmail.com .... this is just a suggestion no hard feelings.

    Sorry Hugh

Called and ordered HughesNet this morning, got online and did a little research, Called and cancelled HughesNet this afternoon, got out with no fees (Thank god). After all I've read I think I will try the Cell Phone stuff.
