Many times I'm where there is no other service, so even cellular is not an option for me. I have Proplan, $69.00, and speeds range from as fast as advertised to maybe as good as fast dial-up, or ISDN. It's quite time-of-day, day-of-week dependent.
On the plus side, this is probably about as good as it gets for satellite service, and I couldn't enjoy the lifestyle I have, with internet an connection from anywhere, if it wasn't for HughesNet. So, overall I can't really complain. I just hope they can work through their current problems with DNS and Web acceleration. Being slow at times is to be expected (but not accepted), but being out of service for an hour or more a day, as it's been lately, is getting REAL old!
