I started out 2 years ago with the DW6000 - then got hooked into the DW7000 with the promise of faster speeds. About 6 months ago I upgraded to the Pro Plus Plan with the HN7000S. This has been a nightmare. The modem malfunctioned. It took 3-4 phone calls for hours and hours for Hughes to determine that I needed a replacement modem. They said one had been shipped and it would take 3-5 days. I waited and waited. Finally on the 5th day I called and it turned out the modem was out of stock. So, I had my DW7000 hooked back up. Finally after a month, the new HN7000S was installed. The service has been sporadic and never once have I had the speeds they advertised. The tech support barely speaks English. Also, they were billing me for 2 accounts for both modems - when I only had 1 hooked up. It goes on and on.... This week I will be having an installer come to check my site. And, I pay, pay again.....
Disgusted - but what to do? There are no other options. I hear that Wild Blue isn't any better or I would switch.

| Hughes Broadband is NOT good!! Hey there, just got off the line with the tech. After my "FAP" kicked in, because, I thought I had not met the 350 mb per 4hr download. However, without warning from Hughes, they have limited it down to only 200 mb per 24 hour period, then you're virtually "locked out" They wanted to sell me the next plan up for only $ 69.95, for the same speed service they offered up to 2 months ago. They kept telling me, to keep it fair so everyone can have internet access in the "area of my service" They've got to allow these speeds/download MB'S. But, they did tell me you can download as much as you want without using any of the "FAP" (Fair Access Policy" mb's) between wonderful unwoken hours of 3am - 5am E.S.T. So, go for it, and maybe you can jam up the Hughes Net NOC until it "smokes" or something. These guys technology are going backwards, not forwards. I highly recommend you look somewhere else, save your money, mind, time. Be happy without internet, for now!!! Hughes gets two thumbs down from me. | |
