"Slow uploads but much faster than with the DW6000"
"Not even faintly tempted to go back to dial up!"

Did my research before signing up for DW6000 CE, including perusing BBR-Satellite for a week or so and reading all the FAQs, so no surprises.
Ordered through Dell to qualify for a $75 mail in rebate and had a response from DW in less than 2 hours. Had an installer assigned same day and coordinated with him for install 2 days later.
Had an excellent install and system has worked as expected with a very few glitches since. Only continuing problem so far (after almost 3 months) is difficulty browsing a very few (Staples and Best Buy, namely) secure sites. This appears to be a fairly general Win XP/SP2 problem.
I have had no occasion to contact support.
Updated 7-9-2005: System continues to work very well. Have not called "tech support" since installation. Only secure site I can't browse is Staples so think that may be an anomaly on their site.
Updated 6-3-2006: Upgraded to DW7000 Pro (non-static) in January. Upgrade painless and significantly better up and downloads. Few problems even with secure sites now, although a few of them, notably PayPal, are still slower than others. Upgrade and extra $10/month well worth it. As with most, would greatly prefer 'real' broadband but DW beats dial-up any day of the week!
Updated 12-10-2006. Same configuration as before and still no siginificant problems other than I have also suffered the same slow downs for the last quarter of 2006 that most have. Fortunately for me, mine do not seem to be as bad as many have reported. While I would certainly move on to 'real broadband' as soon as available, even with the degraded performance of Hughes satellite in general for the last 3 months I wouldn't even CONSIDER going back to dial up. Guess that is what keeps Hughes home satellite in business... ;-()
