I have had this connection for almost a year i have the frontier max package with advertised speeds of 3Mbps down/0.750Mbps up. I am getting the advertised speeds for the download sometimes even more but my upload speeds are not the greatest as i am having trouble with it. If i get it figured out my speeds will be up to 0.800 Mbps and the ping is relatively high but when i get the upload fixed i will have it switched to fast path.

As for the setup really pissed me off it took a incredible month to set up my DSL. When the tech came and set it up he told me that it will be on in a day or two. So after 3 three days nothing. So i called tech support and they told me another company was on my line by the name of Earthlink. At that time i was confused cause i have never heard of Earthlink or never had i signed up for it. They then told me it would take 2 weeks to get it off my line. After two weeks still nothing so i then again called tech support and finally got some who knew what they were doing. He told me that he had found some issues with my local exchange and that he had sent a ticket for it to be fixed about 3 hours later he called me back and said it was up and running and it was. I was also getting advertised speeds so thanks to that one tech.

Front dsl speeds inconsistent

Frontier dsl is experiencing congestion that makes 3 Mbps become a fraction of the bandwidth. After calling the company it is better yet they have a peak usage problem. They state they are upgrading their system yet don't provide a time frame. They acknowledge a problem with outdated equipment they inherited from the previous telecom provider.
