I never write reviews, but I thought this might warrant one. I have had experience with several providers before including cablevision, time warner, RCN, Verizon DSL, and even Verizon EVDO. I've had RCN before in the lehigh valley area, before moving to the service electric area earlier this week. Well, let me tell you. My Verizon EVDO connection is much more reliable than prolog cable internet! At first I thought they just had issues on their end, but not so, it's pretty much an ongoing problem. My modem resets every half hour or so, the connection can't sustain a constant down stream, which renders my VOIP service useless, the speeds vary from 200k to 4mbps; the connection is also plagued with time-outs, lags, and routing issues. I've had a more reliable modem connection back in '93! How can they offer such poor quality of service? Also, I was promised 7mbps connection, the best I've ever done was 4! Upload cap is ridiculous at 384k, and I live in an area with a so-called 2-way service! There's just not way to justify this type of service. I'm amazed this company is still in business! Upload speeds and bandwidth caps are not even mentioned anywhere! Sad to say that I'm forced to switch to Verizon DSL; it's not the best out there, but at least I never had service issues with them (besides screwed up billing system they use). I do feel sorry for anyone who live in an area monopolized by this rotten company with no other choice for a broadband provider...
