    My Other Reviews·Verizon Online DSL
    Update 11-28-07

About two months ago. Service Electric must of hit their magic switch, after approx a year of the most horrible service I've ever seen. After telling me everything is fine and it was a problem on my end. I now get advertised speed of 7000/400, no packet loss, any time of the day with the same equipment I was using. The connection is now solid for gaming, not as solid of latency as my Verizon dsl line though. Only wish SECTV was more competitive with there bandwidth options, 400k up don't cut it in 2007. But that's what you get with SECTV monopoly in the Lehigh Valley. Would cut them all together if it wasn't that I lived so far from the CO to get any DSL higher than 1500/384... 8(

    1) Have yet to see it even come close to reaching advertised speed of 7000/400. Hovers around 500 down with 350 up till around 4 in the morning, then I get about a 1000 down.

    2) Latency to first hop averages from 6 to 250, with average of about a 100.

    3) Packet loss is around 5%.

Worthless hunk of poo for anything other than browsing 2kb .bat files. Stick with DSL in the Lehigh Valley, and stay away from the overloaded nodes of Service Electric and Prolog.

    packet loss

if you have higher than 3% packet loss you should schedule a service call chances are you have a reflection issue or a bad return
