Charter internet was great at first. Blazing speeds. I started at 6ish Mbps then was told I was upgraded to 8Mbps at no charge wow thanks! Then upgraded again to 12Mbps yeeha! Lately I've had an issue with speeds being around 1Mbps But tech support has been very quick to respond. I had two techs visit me and eventually they found an issue on the lines in our neighborhood and fixed the issue. The techs were very helpful and the Charter Direct forum at DSL reports is extremely usefull. Overall I say Charter is pretty good.
One negative - you will never find out of contract pricing on Charter's web page. I wanted to upgrade my TV service so I went to the website and could only find special pricing good for 12 months. I did find what I needed at the bottom of my statement though so we're good to go.
