Had multiple problems with my router, ended up purchasing a new router and problems went away, tech support should have more focus on routers, maybe have recommended routers, people have more than 1 computer these days! Works amazingly fast and great, I am please with my Charter HSI.
I ordered 5Meg down, 512K up service, initially quoted $64.99 per month, when called back in was put on promotion of $39.99 per month for 12 months. I do not subscribe to their cable service. I initially leased a Scientific Atlanta Webstar modem, but ended up purchasing a Motorola Speed Boost modem. Dynamic IP addressing, wish it was static, dns servers don't always work well, have to refresh pages, other than that no complaints.
Installer was knowledgeable, fast and pleasant to deal with.
Recently I moved into a Duplex, there are 2 New Duplexes here. They said that only the other duplex was serviceable, bunch of crap about how they will have to run another line, it is too far to my duplex, etc. This went on for 2 weeks while I had to chase down the guy over all of the lines, etc. Finally I called and gave them the address of the other duplex and when the installer came I had him hook it up to this duplex. He tested the signal and it was just fine, bunch of crap they gave me about it being 100 ft too far. It is running better here than it did at the other 2 residences I had here. I am getting about 4.7 Mbps down, and 450 Kbps up, pretty good for the 5Mb/500K Advertised speed. All in all I am satisfied with Charter.
