Been without charter for about 6 months, got a job and just got it hooked back up. I live in a new house and all our lines are new. So im getting 3.4-8Mbps and it rocks. I have sub 20ms pings and overall its good so far. Charter has got their act together in my area and got my vote this time around. Bellsouth needs to fix thier cap techniques, If someone pays for 3Mb, they shouldent get 2.4.. To me, thats not accetpable.
Update:
Charter has been having some routing issues lately. I called them and tech support was very helpfull and told me what was going on. So, after a few weeks it was corrected. And all is well now.
Update:
Charter had some major latency issues with a few of their upload providers. They had oversold bandwith and cause the whole upstate SC, and Western NC to suffer 500ms+ pings for over a month. Their is a huge thread of the problem in the Charter HSI forum. I called and got credit for all of the downtime, and it looks like it has cleared up for now. We are still crossing our fingers tho.
Update: Charter has fix the routing issues a long time ago. Been rock solid since then. Charter is now rolling out a 10m/1m service to customers. Still wating on it to be released in our area. I will post back with speeds when I do get it.
Update: 7/23/06
I have had 10/1 speeds for a week now, everything is going smooth and im very happy with my connection. Charter really needs to lower the prices soon. Its getting a bit pricey, but its worth the speeds.
