I had enough of aol/dsl(sbc) price increases and speed decreses!!! A few people at work had Charter and loved it, so I thought I would give it a shot. Called up on a friday after work and ordered the 768/128 package. I told them I would do the self install. I live close to one of the offices and picked the Ambit modem up on saturday morning. A 20 min round trip, 10 min install and I was up and running! I did a speed test and was running 883/183 if I remember right! Way better than any of my dsl test that I had done (I think the last was 110/28 before I told aol GOODBYE!) I was more than happy with the quick order to live time, easy install and the speed!

The only bad thing I can say was the email setup! I think I have read a few reviews on this and mine will not be far off. Sales could tell you that you need to setup an email account! Well a quick call to Charter (2min wait) they were going to run me through the setup. Kind of hard to do when you are at work, so he just set up the email account and password. I Had it going in a few min after I got home from work!

I'm not one to do much uploading, but they could raise the upload speed.

Everyone that I talked to on the phone and at the office were very nice. That's always good!

Looks like Charter did the speed upgrade in my area, I just hope the price stays the same or drops!

Now if Charter would only lower their price on cable tv!!!!!

All in all, I am happy with Pipeline and would recomend it to people in my area.

As of 9/23/05 I still feel the same!!

As of 10/28/06 I am no longer in the Florissant area. I had no problems with them in this area. I am now in the Imperial area where I thought they serviced HSI, but for some reason they don't have it for my subdivision. I may get it again if they offer it, but I am looking into other places for HSI.

As of 11/07/07 Still no highspeed from charter or anyone else. Best I can get is edge from at&t and dial-up. I do have Cable from charter, and pretty much thinking of moving to a dish if nothing changes soon.

Update as of 7/29/08 Finally have Pipeline again at the new house. Did the online ordering which was a pain because of dial up, not Charters fault, but it was pretty easy. Order went pretty smoth, had the modem a few hours after the order and up and running a few hours later. Speed test with someone else on the home network ran 4.7m down and 491k up (5meg package 512 down). Internet support was great on the phone. Glad to have it back again. After the promo package is over I think I will upgrade to the 10/1 package since it will only be $5 more a month that the 5/512.
