The service has just been made available in the area, and is still in 'beta' .. Keeping this in mind, I'd give an overall grade of B-..
When I called to order the service, I was told that the Bronze package was 768/256.. However, when they actually installed it, I was informed it would only 768/128 - ..
The install was a bit bumpy, taking 5 techs a total of 3 visits to the house, over 2 days. (the problem traced to a bad port in the area)
So far (only one day) the connections havnt been too clean - speeds are varying, and there is bad lag and delays..
The install was *free* and included additional wiring in the house, an NIC and SurfBorad Cable Modem..
Considering the free install, low price of $39/Mo, it's in Beta, and there is no other broadband choice in my area, and say they're not to bad...

**Update 8/5/01 - Service has gone out 2 times, once for a few hours, once for about 10 minutes. After the first outage, my connection speeds improved drastically (they must have fixed somthing).. For the last week, or so, it's been great!

**Update 8/16/01 - Several days ago, my u/l speeds began to steady right between 116-120kbs, with an occasional 175/kbs or 220kbs. For the last 2 days my d/l speeds have also been steady, and ranging between 700-750kbs, with an occasional 800kps.. The lags and delays seem to be gone, and i'm runnin smoooth.. I've officially changed my rating from "they're OK" to "they ROCK" ...

**Update 9/2/01 - Chaging rating back to "They're OK" due to extended time of packet loss..

**Update 11/3/02 - Upgraded to 1.5/128 and love it.. no packet loss, no downtime in months.. no problems!

**Update 10/8/03 - Pretty smooth sailing the last year.. only 1 or 2 outages, for no more than an hour or so.. Last probelm was due to me accidentally hitting the STANDBY button on my SurfBoard without realizing it.. Tech support figured out what the problem was and even instructed me on how to press STANDBY again to turn it back on! Just got the 'free' 2MB upgrade, and it's running grrrreat !

**Update 4/20/04 - Been up on the 3mb/256 package and loving it! Charter Rokz !

**Update 9/21/08 - It's been a while - i've updated to the 5/256 package, it costs a LOT more now, but I'm still happy with it. In the last year we've only had 1 or two short outages (and i'm online ALLL the time so i would know). Still happy with the service with the exception of maybe the price.
