I Have been a long time Comcast Subscriber, but years ago the Cable operator was TCI and it was vary poorly maintained for the most part but then came Comcast bought out TCI, But in the early stages back then in Baltimore City your only Choice for internet was Verizon DSL, the service I had back then was vary shaky some times the network would go out for hours some times it have good mouths but for the most part the service was vary poor.
Comcast as soon as they took control of TCI began upgrade the entire network from the ground up replace old lines and building out New fiber lines and also extending Trunk I feeder lines. The Quality of television soon became to become aparent but there was lots of down time to television service due to the many lines being upgraded, during this time it was apparent the we would soon be getting Cable Internet when the upgrades finished in the area.
One day I called in to Comcast and guess what they just launched internet in hampden where I live here in Baltimore I was so excited! Not only was my speeds going to be fast but now I had a choice thanks to Comcast!
The Service I have had for years here in Baltimore has vary much altered my opinion of dsl services and much more! I Have always been a online gamer playing MMOG's before many even knew existed, My need for a quality network for my pro gaming needs have always been met by comcast and many times exceeded. Comcast over the years here in Baltimore completely rebuilt the old network that used to be here in Baltimore, we have literally went from a system that was falling apart to a now state of the art cable system.
I have never looked back at Verizon since leaving, and in fact have became more impressed with Comcast as they have also gave back to our city and have also helped fund many programs for youth and helped many of the local charity's, & schools. I have been vary impressed how Comcast gave us here in Baltimore, but when it comes down to it its the service that matter. Comcast is always upgrading there network and building more fiber, wile Verizon is well still back in the 19th century. To bad Verizon doesn't spend as much as they do on advertising here in Baltimore as they do in actual deployment of here fois service to Baltimore City then they could actually offer a competitive service. But Verizon does not want to do that because... Well Comcast has Fiber in the city.. They dont want to compete with a vary well built out comcast network.... Why? hmmm, Possibility of losing... Ya!
If your a Baltimore city resident and don't have Comcast, you don't know what your missing! Downtime? Is none unless there is new network upgrades! good thing about living in hampden is Comcast is always testing out new services here in our area is if there is a new speed increase rumored we are normally the first to start seeing it! The speed! Always above what I am paying for never slow! As for it being a shared network don't listen to crappy flak from verizon, Comcast in the city is all over built so unless half of new york decides to move to baltimore and starts building giant complexes, don't worry comcast's routers/nodes are rarely ever over jammed up. Price! you can't beat it hell if you just want pure basic service you can get Cable for the price of 56k. Perfect for gamers, I have a latency of 90 to UK servers!!! 15-30 to New York! Ok and well the last thing!!! Its Fiber, unlike Verizon Comcast spends money to keep there network infistructure state of the art in Baltimore city!!! So get a Quality product get Comcast!!! Verizon keep your Fiber Comcast has us supplied. They care about there Baltimore Customers!
