    My Other Reviews·Vonage
    ·AT&T U-Verse

Making the switch this weekend from Comcast TV and HSI to AT&T U-verse TV and Internet, and I cannot wait. Still getting between 1.5 and 2.5Mbps for the download on the 6/1.5 tier. It seems like their network in my area is overloaded. I honestly won't miss a thing after Comcast is gone.

Had the service for about 3 years. The first 6months to a year the service was pretty solid. Then as time progressed the outages or interruptions in service occurred more frequently. Currently paying $125 a month for TV and internet bundled together, on the 6/1.5 tier. Was getting easily better than that on the download. Upload was always dead on. TV has been less of a pain in the... A few less outages, and infrequent hiccups.

This past week upgraded to the 16/2 tier for an extra 10 bucks a month. Download speed decreased, and upload increased. What the frig? Even after a couple reboots of the modem(Linksys BEFCMU10) and router(Linksys BEFSR41) still no change. Upload still faster than the download speed. The upload speed is easily double the download. Ping times remained the same on the local speed test servers.

Needless to say Comcast has dug themselves a hole with my household, that they won't be able to dig themselves out of. Expensive TV and Internet bundle is driving us to DSL and back to DirecTV, which was next to flawless when we had it. Sadly that is going to have us dropping Vonage, since we won't need it.

    Router...

Did you ever use VoIP? If so, your router may be the issue. Try hooking the modem directly to the computer, and run some speed tests like that.

If it is the modem, Tier 2 usually just have to send an updated config file, and reset the modem. Shouldnt take more than 10 minutes.

    Re: Router...

I'll would have given that a try. But I already switched back to the 6/1.5 tier today.

Yes, I do have VOIP, Vonage. From what I'm told the BEFSR41 can't handle these speeds on it's internet port.
