    My Other Reviews·Integra Telecom
Our dsl provider of some time just isn't working out.
I used to be able to get admin access to the router they provide, but now I can't really don't need a bunch of redundant devices on site.

We use Comcast for our business vpn, for general internet access in our offices, and for customer wifi in our cafes.

    It works GREAT.

We've had one outage in two years that was a head end equipment problem.
It was resolved in about 2 hours from the time I called to the time the guys climbed the polls, did their diagnostics, and replaced the dead gear.

Consumer customer service isn't as good - the reps in those call centers seem to lack any real sense of urgency.

Still, my home service is great overall.

2 outages in three years - one a dead modem - replaced at n/c by Comcast - and the other was when we forgot to pay the bill at the same time as the provisioning system was being upgraded. The phone rep was clueless as to when the system would be back up, but I was confident that better minds were at work on the issue. We were live about two hours later.

I use the 6down/1up for most of our locations, and the 16down/2up at our heavy usage locations.

The 16/2 isn't working *exactly* as it should, but I'm not complaining - we're 'upside down' on speed with about 8 down and 4 up.

That's ok - as it comes closer to how the connection is actually used - just wish I had an option to order it that way on purpose.

The biz services do require that Comcast plunk down their router on the premises, but unlike our dsl provider they do provide access to the customer side of it so I can adjust the firewall/filtering.

Note: As a firewall/router, the SMC equipment is pretty Spartan.

That's ok - I have stuff in front of it to handle routing and security.
Just be aware that you'll want your own router as well.

I was prepared to wait a week or so after the site assessment as static ip's are provisioned by a different office, but it only took 2 days for provisioning - 5 days total from when I returned the contract.
