"Very reliable, once up and running. Getting installed was an ordeal."
"Price-Games: discount to start; then price jumps w/o notice. A scam."
"If one wants speed, there's always Wireless Beehive in UT & it's cheaper. This is for the patient with lots of $'s."

(ratings match consensus)

    1. The installation was an ordeal. Getting an appointment was like pulling teeth, scheduling over a week out. This is a cable install, not rocket science.

    2. The tech was unable to get support from Comcast provisioning via his personal cell phone to configure the modem. They even put him on hold! This makes no sense. A tech + loaded truck in the field is the most expensive per hour resource, yet he was unproductive on hold for more than fifteen minutes. This is no way to run a business, and creates doubts about the Company at large. Have you seen their stock crashing lately? Just made a new 52 week low today!

    3. The price games: Always a promotion that jumps up the price after a few months. This game is an industry practice, which must add to turnover, and hence churn costs. Nonetheless, Comcast is among most egregious in this stupid game. Minus one full grade for this on both "Pre-Sales Info" & "Install Co-ordination."

    4. If one finds a NAMED staff member with a dialable extension who has done good work, then SAVE the number. The quintessential "next available agent" is not always as competent as one would like. Do not be afraid to ask for a pass-up to a "supervisor" or "manager." They get to be the boss by having a clue.

    5. Outages are very rare and were resolved within a day or two. Good there.

If/whenever the Verizon FIOS arrives; I'm gone, even for a higher price.

This product would be a full grade better, but for the deceitful pricing games.

Ugly Bird is a Comcast customer since 2004. This is my third location with the service. Review is for current home.
