Would have gotten them sooner, but at the time, I was told by an online Comcast representative that cable internet wasn't available at my apartment address (which was a total lie), so I erroneously assumed I had no choice but to get AT&T DSL. Later after I had signed into a contract I discovered that others in my building had Comcast internet service,
so once the contract expired, I got a cable modem.
They gave me a Scientific Atlanta Webstar DPC2100 modem to lease, which has done good for me so far. I'm still planning on picking up a Surfboard off eBay and save myself $3/month, just haven't got around to it yet.
update: I use bittorrent to seed uncopyrighted material and have been effectively prevented to do so by comcast's policies. If you want to do any type of file sharing, DON'T go with these guys unless you want to pay for a business class account.
