I started with ComcastAtHome in 2000, and they have been my broadband ISP ever since. I currently have the 6000/384 package. I don't need the upload bandwidth (most home users don't), and, unless there's an outside-the-network problem, my pings have been VERY low (typically under 100 ms to game servers on GameSpy Arcade; in most cases, it's actually under 50).
Since this review, I was crossgraded to Blast! (at no charge). The pings are still low, and the download speeds flat-out fly. This is a triple-boot system (Vista, openSuSE, Leopard) and all three run very well. CHSI remains the self-installable alternative to FiOS.
Still with Comcast; I have, in fact, dropped back to Silver (old Performance) for price reasons ($19.95 for six months was a relief with a sour economy). At the same time, I jumped on a digital-cable upgrade promotion; still, I'm paying less than I was by almost half (and I've actually noticed little loss in terms of performance to most sites; PowerBoost helps make up for no longer having Blast)
