Ordered internet service originally in 7/02. Service and installer very good and helpful. Had problems with 2 rca modems originally. They were replaced promptly with a com21. No problems since.I consistantly get the speeds advertised, 1500/256. In Feb.03 I took their bundled package with digital tv and received a nice price break.Total cost is 114.99 a month -25.00 for Dish buyback for 16 months and includes all premium channels. Saved me about 50.00 a month when internet and Dish were billed seperately. No company is perfect but they have proved,at least the franchise in this area, that they are trying and trying hard.

6/03/04 Still have comcast and still no problems to speak of. Have 3000/256 now and for the last mon. have been averaging 2800/230. Not bad but since they upped the speed I was getting between 3000 and 3100. When I called they said they had more subscribers now and that could offset the speeds. I test the speeds often at different sites and it seemed to drop suddenly. It's like they turned down or recapped their speed. With Comcast the techs are always polite but not that knowledgeable. If you call 3 times you'll get 3 different answers. Obviously not trained to well.

Both Hsi and Digital cable have been without any down times at all. This is excellent. Comcast is still very good out here and if they trained their techs a little better they could be awesome.

08/02/04 Must make a correction. The slower speeds I found out, was not the fault of Comcast but the upgade of ZAPro to version 5. Once I went back to 4.5 my speeds were back up to normal. My apologizes to Comcast.

06/23/06 update Wow, it's been almost 4 yrs. with HSI. Time flies. I have to say that in that time Comcast has been close to perfect . My speeds are always there, 1 small outage that I can remember and the cable tv have been great. Haven't seen a tech since last summer when the the neighbor accidently cut my cable. No complaints here.

Cheers to Comcast for an awesome job!

06/08/07 update. Another year gone by. Still basically the same set up with Comcast except my speeds now are 6000/384. Very nice and more then enough for my purposes.

When speed boost came out I could not get it even though the techs at Comcast insisted I should have it. One thing I learned about the techs is their degree of knowledge. All have always been very nice and polite but their answers will differ with each person you talk to. They said my old RCA modem was able to handle speed boost, but the forums here would suggest otherwise. I switched my modem out for a Motorola SB5120 and my speeds started flying both up and down, consistantly averaging 14,000 down and 2,200 up. Not bad.

Outside of this little problem I have no complaints. All has been near perfect with Comcast HSI.

Cable has been just as good with an occasional problem with on Demand.

Overall I would definitely recommend Comcast to anyone.

03/15/2008 update. Happy to say there have been no problems

    HSI has been rock solid.

Cable TV also near perfect. Some problems with On Demand every so often where it becomes very slow and pops up a few errors.

Comcast reps have been very helpful and polite the few times I have called.

The only thing that becomes very annoying is their constant nagging and once a week letters to subscribe to their digital phone service.

What does it take for them to understand that I do not want this?

Mark it on my account and make this a dead issue.
