    My Other Reviews·Comcast Digital Vo..
    Update (05/03/2009):
I cancelled Comcast HSI in March because we moved to an area serviced by VZ FiOS.

    Couldn't be happier.

    Update (07/28/2006):
I cannot wait for Verizon to bring DSL service to my home. I am now a DirecTV subscriber who pays $42.99 per month, plus $9.99 in basic cable [that I don't watch] in order to have HSI in my home.

Comcast is reaping record profits and sticking it to customers with these inflated prices in areas without FIOS.

    END

    UPDATE:

Service has been great. We are on the 6000/768 plan and our speed tests regularly come in at over 6000 down and 715 up.

No complaints about service - just price.

    END

I subscribed to Comcast @Home well over two years ago and got a free install. What was nice about this install back then was that Comcast subcontracted out for the install service.

The guy that came ran two new lines to my home from the pole - one just for TV service and a second for the cable modem. He ran the second line from the pole to house and even installed it in the room I wanted it in. NICE!

Comcast bought Suburban Cable where I am in Harrisburg PA, so I wasn't with Comcast@HOME when the up and down speeds were much higher. So I came in when down speeds for me were at about 1100-1150 and up was about 100 or so.

Now my down speeds are always over 1700 and my up is at 219-220 consistantly.

I have not had many tech issues with Comcast - one was for a modem that decided to quit on me so they replaced it the next day with a new Motorola (dynamice IP).

That's about it for tech issues.

    I've been pleased.

I used to say that Broadband was a luxury. Now that we've had it for a few years, it is a necessity.

We cancelled our Verizon home telephone service and are using VoIP only.

Without Comcast, we couldn't do this as Verizon does not offer DSL at our location.

Comcast is the only available choice for Broadband where I am and I am very happy with it.

The only downside - all the new subscribers get all of the nice perks. Where were these nice perks when I signed up?
