Had Earthlink DSL and was disconnected all the time, PPPoE sucks. Will never go back to dial up so, Comcast is good enough for now. Can't really comment on tech support, haven't had to really call them. The one time I did call, the tech was good, can't judge the whole on one good or bad tech though.
5 Years later still using Comcast. No complaints. My only other option is DSL which I was forced to use for a about a month, speeds sucked ass. Ditched that and went back to cable. Haven't looked back.
