Took a year for the service to get into my area, once it did I ordered it but got caught up in the switchover which froze the provisioning of new accounts. They told me as soon as the networked switched it would work and it did. Had the green light 6 hours after the midnight start. Started the computer and was flying. UPDATE 1/15/03 Had a few problems in the summer months with low signal levels, replacement by comcast of some old filters took care of the problem. Have been without a problem for about 4-5 months, no down time that I know of. UPDATE 6/29/04 It's been working great over that last year. Speed has increased and ping times have gone down. Only problem has been the recent no Yahoo fiasco. UPDATE 6/9/05 Inreased upload speed, no problems other than the DNS problems mentioned in threads. Happy with the service, however the price should be in the $29 range. UPDATE 1/28/06 Increased D/L speed, now running 6000/350. Uptime is excellent but still think it's overpriced. Only problem was drop in signal levels which caused new modem to reset. It took several calls and service tech visits to get the problem resolved, which was a bad burried "main feed"cable several hundred feet from my house. UPDATE 7/30/2006 No problems with service in the last 6 months. Cost is still high in my opinion. FIOS has been made available. I'm waiting to see if that affects prices. UPDATE 1/1/2007 Tried FIOS, decided to stick with Comcast. No change in price but speed has increased. No problems since last update, very reliable connection.
UPDATE 12/22/2007 Comcast is still flying along with rarely a glitch. Total downtime for the year was probably 4 hours. Speed is up at the old price. I have no regrets sticking with CC over FIOS.
