Update: September 2008
Had some small issues with the connection dropping. Suspected the modem and/or splitter, but didn't have the time to deal with it. Well, it died. At the worst time. I had dropped my cell phone, and had a tropical storm coming in. I call tech support, and got through in 5 minutes (hate their phone queue). I explained to them that I had worked for CV before, so he didn't bother with the garbage. he set me up with a same day appointment, and the tech was there in 2 hours. Tech replaced the modem and the splitter, and was good to go. No issues since then.
I used to work for Cablevision Tech Support. I originally got the service as part of an employee perk. Back then, I was paying about 25 bucks a month for 3 boxes, Optimum Online w/Boost, and Optimum Voice.
Now that I don't work for them, I can review their service
Speeds have been good. I do get the 5 minute maintainance cutoffs about 1/week around 2 am though, which is annoying, but understandable.
Optimum Voice gets static every once in a while. And the annoying calls from CV sales, but then, I have the whole package already?
Good service, poor customer service.
