    I use the Road Runner Turbo option on cable at $54.95 per month (15Mb down / 2Mb up). Other options in my area are Earthlink on cable or DSL from the local phone company. DSL speeds don't come close to the speeds available from Road Runner. I also use an independent VOIP provider with cell phone backup (since everyone in the family has cell phones anyway). This allows me to be independent of the local phone company and their 100% tax and fee structure (a $12 monthly basic phone plan costs $24 or more per month after taxes and fees and a whole lot more if you want to add any features). I've used Road Runner for 5+ years and am very satisfied with the reliability in my area. Their tech support is weak and can rarely definitively fix a problem - they never know exactly what's wrong but in most cases the problem is usually resolved.
