    My Other Reviews·AT&T Midwest
My line is business class RoadRunner. Max speed is 10mbit/1.5mbit with 1 static IP. Extra static IP's cost $10/month.

Installation took most of a day due to a) the box in my front yard being dead and b) the static IP that I was assigned had no routing. Once those issues were corrected, I was able to set up my firewall and servers.

Since then, I notice that download speeds in the evening usually drop to 3-4 megabit. Speeds usually stay there until 2 or 3 in the morning.

11/4/2008 - Well, it took some time and some fighting to get them to wake up, but it appears that my node has finally been split. I no longer have packet loss or slow downs in the evenings. Speeds are steady. If you have similar problems, I recommend you keep documentation of who you talk to, and push to get a supervisor involved. Keep at it and call them every day. And, if you have the ability, set up software like PingPlotter or SmokePing to show the degradation as it happens, and email them the charts.

    Lowering score

OK.. This evening slowness is getting old.. I work online through VPN and can use a fair amount of bandwidth for my job.
In the evenings, speeds are dropping as low as 2 megabit now. At about 1:30 or so, things open up and I'm back at 10 megabit. I think this area is oversold and needs split. Hope they do something soon

    Lowering score.. again...

Still fighting with them about this ongoing problem.
    So, I'm lowering the score..
My node is very obviously oversold, and needs split. However, the supervisors will not return my calls no matter how many times I leave them voice mail. They're very obviously stonewalling me.
I have set up smokeping on my webserver and have it tracking pings to several IPs, and all of them show a definite lag problem beginning every night at the same time.

The only reason I don't leave is because I just left AT&T, and while download speeds suck, the upload speeds are fairly consistent which is important for the websites I host.

Assuming they quit stonewalling me, I'll raise the score.. But, at this point its been 4 weeks of daily phone calls
