I never get their advertised speeds. I've told them this and they never give me a straight answer why, but they don't seem surprised.

    Service Discontinued without Notice

Time Warner Boots Newsgroups without Notice

My local TWC broadband says that Roadrunner has dumped newsgroups for lack of interest. I was certainly an interested user.

I found out when I went to use them today and there was a notice saying that the newsgroups were no more.

I've been an Internet user for many years, with dialup, ISDN, DSL, and now cable, in California, New Jersey, Russia, Spain, and Estonia, and this is the first time I have had an ISP that didn't provide free newsgroups.

I am going to quit TWC as soon as possible. It's not just that it doesn't offer newsgroups, it is the gross discourtesy of abruptly ceasing to carry them without any notice whatsoever to me.

It's as if TWC is saying "we'll do whatever we please with your service and we could care less what you think, because there is nothing you can do about it."

Yes, TWC, there IS something I can do about it. First of all, you have obliterated the customer good will that companies are supposed to care about. I now have zero loyalty. I will probably now be doing a lot of ISP-changing -- I've had periods of doing that in the past, and it's time for that again.
