After some escapades trying to get this service installed, everything is working as it should. A reasonable 5mbps downstream, but a joke of an upstream 512kbps. Service was advertised as 7mbps/512kbps. I'm getting almost exactly 5mbps downstream. This ratio is a joke. No serious filesharing can be done. (Albeit TimeWarner doesn't want people filesharing, but I could care less.)
Bottom line is that for the area this is all I could really get, and the price is pretty good. Compare to my other review however, and i'm unimpressed.
I have yet to actually see if this connection will be reliable or not; but from my personal experiance with any cable service (At least in the Chicagoland and mid-west area) it never was. Maybe TimeWarner is different.
Note that after doing a few different speedtests, i'm not receiving nearly as much downstream speed as I should be. It is hopping in and out anywhere between 2.5 to 5mbps. Fairly dissapointed.
