I just got back with roadrunner. I'm now hitting just a hair under 7mb per second download. I'm on the 7mb plan too. I was told by a friend when they had upgraded the area. Right now I would highly recomend roadrunner to people in my area.

Since my last review i have upgraded to turbo. Which is 15mb download 768kbps upload. The connection is great. Just within the last few days they have enabled powerboost in my area. So i get short bursts of up to 33mb download. This only lasts for about 4 seconds however then it reverts back to 14.5mb. Overall i am very satisfied with my connection.

TCP has a maximum window size, and unless you perform a UDP Data transfer, then you will never in 1 session be able to max your 7Mb download.

| Road Runner Cable Service About every other month I have to spend an hour or so on their help lines. It takes that long to find someone qualified in their organization to get my speed back up from DSL speed levels of about 400 kps to the advertised high speed I am paying extra for ( 7,000 to 10,000 kps).
If there were another cable option I would take it. | |
