I was an Adelphia Cablew Subscriber until the transfer late last year. They keep promising to upgrade ous to full Time Warner Road Runner Subscribers, but the months keep ticking by. We are still on Adelphia subsciber packages. The TV is stil the Adelphoia Packages. None of the TW packages are avaiable to us yet. Time Warner Road Runner (TW/RR) does not know when the full tranfer/implmentation will take place. All they say every time I call and ask is 'Soon'. late last year (2006) we had a partial transfer and have RR email.

The RR Internet is Intermittent and Inconsistant with speeds much slower than advertised and somitimes it goes out for seconds, minutes, and once in a while hours) but lately it's gotten much better, but still a bit flaky.

The average speeds are 3500/350. We have had cable here in this area for 20 years. We have had cable with the same company for 14 years. Even though it changed hands through take overs several times. Adelphia Cable had the speeds of about 4600/384 consistantly before the take over by TW/RR.

They say we only have one speed and that's it, their are no choices here. In this area there are 2 cable providers, it depends on which side of which steet you live on. Cox Cable is the only other provider that i am aware of in North San Diego County. They look like they have great services and speeds. Totally awesome. But we can only get what we have. Again, no othe rspeeds.

For several years, until recently they put in the latest and greatest Cable, and Fiber Optics here int he area, it was a massive upgrade to the whoel areas infrustructure. But you woul not know that by the craooy service we get. The TV side is ok, not many outages at all if any. it''s just we cannot get the Time Warner prices and pacakges until they finally decide they wil give them to us, until then we are still on Adelphia pacakges. Raod Runner speeds are crap. 3500/350 is a joke, when you see the rest of the country and what they get. It's like stil being int he stone age. Not to mention intermittent connections, quite often... sometimes goes on for weeks. And lots of lag. if you play games using the RR cable, that can suck.

The Take Over from Time Warner and RoadRunner was a huge Fiasco. If/when they finally finsh it,.. I may update my review.

Of course TW/RR customer service seems ok, but they too seem to left clueless on the transfer and have no clues about dates. They are curteous as usual and if you need a tech to come out they are good. However if you try to ask about ping problems, and questions about their network problem with bad rotuers they are totally lost. I have a background in electronic engineering and computers, but the techs they hire mostly have no clue at all, They are training to put cable in and start computers, That's it. They knwo that job very wel and make sure you have a good connection and good cable. But that is the best they can do. Anything witht he network and they have no clue, and furthermore they have no power or say in resolving their network problems.

    speed

I had comcast that was bought out by TW/RR. RR is the slowest conection since dial up. Comcast was fast. RR is the worst provider I have seen thus far. The speeds are so inferior that sometimes I keep listening for the dial up noise.

    TWC is beyond bad

I ordered new cable service from TWC. I haven't had cable in many years due to poor service in the past. I'm sorry to say that I am now regretting giving them another chance. My service was installed on 1/8/07. Almost immediately I noticed several problems including very slow, intermittent internet service and bad/no reception on many of the basic and standard cable stations I should be receiving. I called to complain and a technician came to diagnose my issues on 1/12/06 (Tech #1).

Tech #1 discovered that I had a 'high signal to noise ratio' which he suspected was the source of all my problems. He planned to turn in the paperwork to the local dispatcher and my problem would be sorted out shortly.

Ten days later on 1/22/07, after MANY calls and long hours on hold with TWC customer service another technician (Tech #2) came to my apartment to diagnose the problem again. He said the problems I was encountering were due to the 'high signal to noise ratio' he was measuring on the line. He planned to turn in his paperwork and assured me that a supervisor would be on the case to sort out the problems.

Nine days later on 1/31/07, after MANY more calls and complaints another Technician (Tech #3) came to my house to get to the bottom of the issue. He replaced my HD DVR which, while appreciated, did not solve my television reception problem. Then he put an amplifier on my line and exchanged some cable from the original installation. To make a long story short, he was unable to resolve the issues but promised that he would diligently turn in his paperwork and his supervisor would most certainly be in touch to bring the problem to a close.

Now, my internet has not worked all day so I spent two and a half hours on the phone with a tier three customer service operator this evening. He noted a 'high signal to noise ratio' on my line and scheduled another technician to come out on Saturday to diagnose the problem again.

I've lost complete confidence in Time Warner Cable. It seems I will now will have to disconnect my service and try and get a refund check for the bill I already paid in good faith.

What I've learned the hard way is that Time Warner Cable is significantly under-resourced in the areas of quality control, customer service, and technical support. They have severely over-extended themselves with recent acquisitions and cannot provide the service they promise.

I will advise anyone who will listen to AVOID TIME WARNER CABLE at all costs.
