Have had FiOS for almost two years. Called Tampabay RoadRunner and inquired about getting cable internet as a backup for my residence. They quoted a price and when I told them I could get FiOS for 34.95 /mo they immediately lowered their price to match. I did not tell them that I already had FiOS.

Sales took my order and scheduled a Friday install. The installer showed up on time and saw the ONT on the side of my house. He just grinned. He installed the Cable Internet Service on some RG6 quad shield that I had run to my comm rack. I plugged the cable modem (Motorola SB) into the the comm rack and then into my Linky dual WAN router. Was up and running five minutes after the tech finished cleaning up the wiring.

The tech was very professional and never even came into the house. I guess that he was glad that he did not have to crawl around in the attic during the Florida summer. My residence is wired with SpeedPull from Graybar (4 cat5e per bundle). One bundle to every room in the residence.

Service for the last six months has been very good. I use the FiOS connection most of the time. Only a couple of outages of short duration. One because of backhoe fade on a fiber segment and another because of a bad router. Other than that, usually stable 7m/512kb dynamic ip service. No upload compared to FiOS for Voip and other server apps. Work VPN functions good on the cable. No complaints. Can't comment on the tech support since I don't use it. I use Level 3's DNS servers on both FiOS and RR. (4.2.2.1 to 4.2.2.6)

All in all, a very good service for the money and I am pleased.
