    My Other Reviews·RoadRunner Cable
I was recently migrated to roadrunner from Adelphia. I had been a satisfied customer of Adelphia. Their tech service was very good although I rarely had a reason to use it. TW did a decent job letting me know about the switch although it appears they made some server changes last weekend that I wasn't aware of and I lost service until I rebooted my modem. I still have my Adelphia email address. I was told by roadrunner that I'd be informed when my new email address would be available. I read that I can switch it myself but I'll wait until I get the notification.

My house has underground utilities including cable. The cable feed is at least 20 years old and likely needs replaced. I believe a lot of my in house cable also should be replaced as well. I've noticed that my speeds are not quite as good as some others in my town and some of the cable drops to various TV's in the house are weak.

I'm using the same Motorola modem that I received from Adelphia. I run a combo wired and wireless LAN in the house with a total of 4 computers. I have 2 desktops running WinXP, one main (wired) and one wireless. I have a laptop running WinXP wirelessly and a desktop running Ubuntu Linux that's wired.

    UPDATE: March 26, 2008

Well, it's been a while now since I migrated from Adelphia to Roadrunner. My opinion remains positive. I've experienced almost no downtime. Speeds have remained good for the most part. Like most people, I'd like to see faster upload speeds but for one reason or another, that seems to be a pipe dream. Most of the local techs that I've met have been knowledgeable and helpful with the exception of just one. This guy knew considerably LESS than I did and I ended up schooling him towards resolution.

Note to a poster replying to my earlier review. My email address is indeed someone@roadrunner.com.

    RR's Addresses

Mid-Ohio's TWC has advised when calling into Tier 3 NOT to change your email address yourself. The @roadrunner.com email addresses are not correct! you will be given user@columbus.rr.com or something of such that they're using for Columbus. The RoadRunner.com webmail site is just directed to Adelphia's.
