    My Other Reviews·RoadRunner Cable
Time Warner is really pissing me off. I'm in the process of having my house re-sided and will have all my various cable runs finally covered by the new siding. This is a good time to have some of my connectivity issues resolved before having the siding installed. When I called TW, the earliest they could have someone out was a week out! And then, I have to be prepared to see them SOMETIME between the hours of 8 AM and 7 PM. So, I just take the day off hoping that they might call and stop by? How frigging arrogant can you get as a company??? TW is currently in a squabble with the Big Ten network over carrying that channel. Their competition in this area is satellite. The only other broadband internet in town is Verizon DSL. So, to drop TW and Roadrunner, I'd need to go with satellite TV and DSL. And, by the way, I don't currently receive ANY high def channels from Time Warner.

    Instant Switch of speed?

You do realize that when the merger took place, there wasn't a magical switch that just converted all the Adelphia/Comcast properties, EQUIPMENT WISE, to TWC right? I'd say it was a coincidence that you had a problem. This is not like the scene from the cableguy where he goes in the hall, and flips a switch to turn the service back on.

My suggestion to many people that post in these forums, is think about what you are writing before you write it, you only make yourself look very very stupid by posting things that are very very far from the truth. The post above being a prime example.

Another item to comment on regarding how many people are on a node. (Tech Tip-This is where we have 1 fiber path, forward/return, that feed a set # of homes.) The assumption that people make is that EVERY SINGLE HOME fed from that node is active. WRONG. Lets say there are 1000 homes passed on a node, realistically, probably about 100 are actually active with service. I can't speak for the Adelphia/Comcast systems. In LA for TWC pre-merger, our node breakdowns are 250 passings per.

Ask the right questions before complaining, and you just might get a fair response.

    Re: Instant Switch of speed?

Thank you for the browbeating. I don't believe it's a coincidence that I still have issues 5 weeks later. I do realize that there's not a magic "switch" that someone throws when there's a change-over. I'm also not a tech as you are apparently.

arrogant because they said it would be a week? that seems like a "busy" thing instead of an "arrogant" thing. Also, most TW's have a 24/hr trouble call guarantee, im sure somethin could have been worked out within a day's time. (if ur TW does the 24 hour thing)

also, u dont recieve HD channels... whats ur point? they dont have HD service or u dont have an HD box? not sure what u mean

switch to business svc and you won't experience the trouble you have now. TWC is the best I have seen in years. Do you expect them to upgrade all your very old system to the most advance tech system and not experience trouble in the process? Why are you guys short sighted? These people have only been around for a yr and have made great improvement than ATT, Comcast and other who once had the area. If the upgrades were done, you would not have had these issues in the first place. Be patient or go to loser sat svc or vz and see and experience.
