Set up a transfer on 12 Aug, term service at old location on 1 Sep, start service at new location on 2 Sep. Service "inadvertently" termed at old location on 18 Aug. Spent nearly an hour on the phone getting service restarted, then confirmed original transfer order including dates.
Term at old location on 1 Sep went as scheduled. Tech never showed for install at new location on 2 Sep. Spent an hour on hold waiting for support, only to be told that the install had been "canceled" during the foul-up on 18 Aug (even though appointment was still visible in system as of 31 Aug, when I called in to check). Appointment rescheduled for 11 Sep.
Tech arrived on 11 Sep, even got there early. Everything connected OK except digital receiver, which he was not informed about. He called the office for me, only waited 15 minutes. Rep had no knowledge regarding receiver, but said I could come pick it up. OK, fine. Installer then asked for a $135 COD charge, contrary to what I was told by rep during transfer setup. Back to the phones, another 15 minutes, rep nixed the charge.
Cable, internet, and phone work as they did at my old place - outstanding! But the customer service was underwhelming, and would have been much more frustrating had I not been a former tech support rep for a cable broadband company. Had there been a viable option, I would have been tempted to explore it...
