RoadRunner has decided make use of dead web space by providing a RoadRunner/Yahoo search page instead of an IP unroutable page. It's not a value added service. I hope RR makes a few dollars off of the click thru's generated by it. The opt-out feature is easy enough so no complaints. I'd leave them immediately if they hooked up with a contextual ad service though. note to self: drop hawaiiantelcom's home phone service & pickup oceanics service.
I have 3 different ISP's that I access the net with. As it is right now, RoadRunner would be the one ISP I'd keep if I were allowed only one ISP. When I have a heavy load RoadRunner is my 1st choice. They have never complained when my monthly bandwidth usage looked more like a large corporate account than a residential account. Their subscription rates are also the highest of the 3 ISP's but as long as they continue to offer me a transparent, wide open access point, I'll view their cost as a good deal.
In the State of Hawaii, RoadRunner is they way to go for high speed access.
